Craig Tuffin (born in Redcliffe, Australia in 1969) is a highly regarded artist and educator, living on the Tweed Coast in Northern New South Wales. With over thirty years of teaching experience, he can be found running photography workshops in schools, universities, art institutions and in his private studio. In that time, he has had the unique opportunity to develop the only Australian State School "19th Century Photographic Process" curriculum.

His current project involves an investigation into the materiality of the daguerreotype and its ability to occupy a unique space in history, alongside another in contemporary art practice. However, Craig’s work isn’t limited to a singular medium. Over his career he has produced unique bodies of work using a variety of photographic processes such as salt, albumen, silver gelatin, carbon, platinum palladium, wet plate collodion and daguerreotype.

Tuffin has won numerous awards for his work and is represented by GoldStreet Studios, Victoria/Beijing and the Lebovic Gallery, Sydney. He is a consultant in 19th Century photographic methods for the Museum of Brisbane and regularly travels as a speaker at institutional events. Tuffin has exhibited his work nationally and internationally and can be found in numerous publications. His work is in the official collection of the Getty Research Institute, the National Gallery of Australia, the State Libraries of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, as well as many other private and public collections around the world.
