Danielle has been captivated by the natural world from childhood. Inspired by the blend of art and science, she finds beauty in nature that surrounds her. She captures her vision using technical and scientific techniques such as infrared imaging and photomacrography.Danielle investigates the life cycle of plants, insects and animals within the natural world. To express her images in print, she chooses alternative photographic print processes including platinum palladium, chrysotype, cyanotype and Van Dyke Brown. These processes enhance and re-interpret the original image with another dimension.By combining the digital technologies with analog printing techniques, Danielle produces one-off, hand crafted images on paper. She finds the entire creation a meditative process.Danielle’s 29 years of experience as a biomedical photographer mixed with her background of education in fine art and science gives her a unique skill set that she applies to achieve her own imaging aesthetic. She holds three university degrees in the arts and sciences.
