Jill Welham is a self-taught cyanotype artist, in 2019 she was the overall winner of the International Garden Photographer of the Year with one of her wet cyanotype prints. Jill works primarily creating both traditional and wet cyanotype photograms using botanical specimens that she collects from her garden and surrounding countryside. Her images have been exhibited internationally and many of her original cyanotype prints are in private collections around the world.

Jill has recently completed a yearlong project to create a body of work using plants and flowers collected from the walled garden of Burton Agnes Hall, an historic country house in East Yorkshire, UK. The completed work was exhibited in the Garden Gallery at the Hall in 2021.

She lives and works in North Yorkshire in the UK and makes her work outside in her garden, using only the sun to expose the images.
